“These photographs were made in the fertile time between the end of the Vietnam War and the advent of MTV. In that intense period we felt a visceral need for poetic language in the form of live expression. In the 1980’s, music-television changed the culture of performance. There was no longer any need to leave the house, no longer any danger that our freshly pressed shirts would ever be soiled with the salty sweat of a live performer.”
What follows are today's experiments in combining images from this body of work. In the future I'd like to make more cards and also to make limited edition large prints of some of these choices. This is the form that attracts me in my other work, complementary combinations......coupling....mating.....intercourse between entities.....like that
